Observing the small crowd as your imagination takes you on adventures to sweet destinations, mindfulness, new perspectives & visions of becoming who God created you to be. Slowly sipping your favorite cup of coffee, tea, matcha or hot chocolate in a room filled with Biblical history, quiet creatives, first dates, very light chatter, the smell of fresh ground coffee beans & the sounds of fresh crinkled paper ready to embrace the innovation & boldness that inspires a creative such as yourself."

The short story above describes the type of feeling, connection, & experience I want you to have when you walk into The Inked Liberation Bookstore & Cafe & while visiting us here online. I was inspired to create a space for creative introverts like you & me, to be able to express ourselves freely, to have our art shared, to give a voice to those who don't feel heard, all while being a part of a judgement free, supportive, and compassionate community.

This is OUR Community. OUR Voice. You are not alone, even when you don't want to be bothered. If you know you know, lol.

My goal is to foster liberation, spiritual transformation, and character development while providing a sanctuary, resources, tools, & information for introverts & creatives to express their unique voices mainly through the art of written expression, their passions and creative works, or just to simply share their story.

A Safe Haven for Quiet Creatives

Since I was about nine years old, I loved to journal and write. I used journaling as a safe haven and a mental escape from the abusive nature of my household and external environments. To mentally get away I began entering writing and poetry contests at school and had my own private celebrations with God whenever I won. I brought home the prizes, and it was really exciting to me because some of those prizes were items such as radios and books, things that I could not afford on my own or that I was made fun of for showing interest in by people I thought cared about me. Sometimes the prizes that I won were taken away from me and as a broken little girl it stripped away a bit of my spirit every time.

My love for art, music, & writing grew. The prizes were special to me, and I took really good care of them because no one gave it to me, I earned it all on my own. Yes I felt liberated & special & the only one who was there to cheer me on was Jesus. He was the only one that never gave up on me as a child and I am honored to say that he is still with me today He is the true definition of faithful. He's my best friend & really my only friend. I have God to thank for making me feel special and heard. So, I'm stepping out on faith and creating a space for the beautiful men, ladies and youth, who are like me, who are in need of an escape from the noise of the world & sometimes unhealthy environments.

Cyrus Dale is an author from the suburbs of Chicago. Growing up he often used his creativity to play pranks on his parents' classmate's, teammates, and even teachers. In 2018, Cyrus discovered that it was possible to self-publish books online. By 2021 he self-published his first book, "Rockhurst", a story set in Bolingbrook a suburb of Chicago that Cyrus lived in for over 10 years. The story is based on true events that involves a neighborhood basketball court That the town decided to close down.

Cyrus didn't slow down after his first book. His second book, "10 Jams", was released in 2022 and is a collection of short stories that includes "Dreadhead Sympathy", a story that won him the Cornell Larner Award at his alma mater- Western Illinois University. The story is about an older African American gentleman that is prejudiced towards young African American males that have dreadlocks.

In 2023, Cyrus released, "The Fewspaper", a fictional newspaper filled with humorous fictional articles. In 2025, Cyrus released, "Live From Heaven", another collection of short stories that all take place in Heaven.

"I first connected with Cyrus Dale on social media, where I had the opportunity to watch one of his live sessions and engage with him in conversation. Cyrus' personality is very inviting and very down to earth. He laughed when I told him that one of is stories had me crackin' up for real. "G.P.S." – A woman in Heaven finds herself longing to look the way she did on Earth. "The Couples" – A hilarious yet profound take on the Adam & Eve narrative. A couple in Heaven gets the chance to meet Adam and Eve and they aren't shy about expressing their disappointment in their actions in the Garden of Eden. But God, in His divine wisdom (and sense of humor), challenges them to face the same temptation themselves. The result? They fail spectacularly, I mean just out right dropped the ball on this one. Instead of being placed in Eden, they end up in the "Garden of Cap"—a witty twist that emphasizes the irony of judging others while facing the same human weaknesses. And you guys the couple spoken of in this story was all talk, they didn't want no smoke with God....or did they?...YOU HAVE TO READ IT, IT'S CRAZY GOOD!
